Providing support whilst in hospital

Inpatient hospital care for the North East Essex runs from Colchester General Hospital (ESNEFT).  Having an inpatient diabetes team can greatly reduce length  of stay and improve patient care.

The team works and is contracted by the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) to cover all inpatient diabetes care. They ensure all staff across the hospital are educated and kept up to date about diabetes, as well as holding monthly diabetes link nurse meetings.

Hospital staff should refer all diabetes patients to the inpatient diabetes team within 24 hours. If there are any concerns in regards to your diabetes, please ask the ward staff to refer you to the ESNEFT inpatient diabetes team.
