Emma Birbeck, Diabetes Practitioner for the North East Essex Diabetes Service in Colchester (NEEDS), has recently received a prestigious nursing award. Emma received the ‘Chief Nursing Award’, at the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust annual education conference.
The Chief Nursing and Chief Midwifery Officer Awards have been developed to reward the significant and outstanding contribution made by nurses and midwives in England.
These awards recognise the enormous range of skills and enduring compassion that modern nursing and midwifery represent. They celebrate nurses and midwives who go above and beyond their everyday roles to provide excellent care, leadership, and inspiration to their colleagues and patients.
Congratulating Emma on her award, Diabetes Service Manager for the North East Essex Diabetes Service Adele Holcombe said:
“We are absolutely delighted that Emma has received this award.
“Emma is a naturally kind, compassionate person, and she is a superb nurse. She puts her patients first, and always goes the extra mile to help them any way she can. Her kind nature is also appreciated by her colleagues within the NEEDS team”.
