Diabetes Education

North East Essex Diabetes Service offers Type 1 and Type 2 education courses such as DAFNE and DESMOND in a variety of community settings and times. Courses can be taken when you are diagnosed, or at any time through your diabetes journey. The courses run for different lengths of time and our education secretaries will help ensure the correct course, which meets your own needs, is booked for you. Over 90% of people who attend one of our education courses improve their knowledge on diabetes and enjoy the course. Our courses are fun, informative and current.

Our courses include:

Patient education is very important to us and there are a variety of ways we can help you develop your knowledge of diabetes to feel empowered and much more in control of your condition. Locally we have developed different types of education to meet our local needs. Evidence shows that giving people high quality education so they know how to self-manage their diabetes, along with personalised care planning with their healthcare professionals, has the most positive impact on their health and wellbeing.

You can book a course through your GP practice or directly with us.
